Finals are over, and I couldn't be more relieved, and while those may be over, yearbook is still in full swing, sadly it does not follow the usual guidelines of the school year, like a few days of rest after finals. No, and because of that I have four pages due this monday. Nothing like an upcoming deadline to lessen your stress level. I just don't know what's up anymore. I have a Decathlon competition this Saturday that I haven't even started studying for. I also have to give a presentation on the Lang/Lit section that refuses to open on my computer. It must be Karma or something. Ugh! I'm just sick of it, and on top of ALL that I have to take Practice ACT tests on Monday and Gains test on Tuesday. It's like give me a five-second break from all the testing. My ACT course starts that Tuesday, and thus the college preperations continues.
I went to DePaul on saturday, and the best thing I saw was the Gym. The gym was beautiful, we're talking 5 floors of gym here. I almost swooned. The dorms were decent, and the library was nice, but it wasn't like it screamed "THIS IS THE COLLEGE I WANT TO GO TO!" So the search for the perfect college continues with number being Southern Illinois University In Carbondale. Go Salukis! ;)
Today was the first day like all year with no homework, and when I finally start to study for decathlon. No dice. GRRRRR I'm just so angry about this. I'm going to go on the computer at school, and see if it will let me on. Wish me luck.
I just finished Karma Girl by: Jennifer Estep. It was awesome. I had read the second one, Hot Stuff, before the first, so I might go back and read the second one again, and then go onto the third.
Well that's all for now.

Sonya

1.25.11: Finals Part 2
Well, today was the second day of finals, and wasn't much better than the first. I had my AP final, which was just a practice AP multiple choice test, so there was no way to study. I had no idea what the questions were asking half the time. Then was spanish which started off easier, and started to get harder. I did decent though. Then lunch, thank god. And last, but certainly the least. Physics. I hate Physics. Whomsoever created it is burning in hell right now, and he deserves it. It's just a bunch of stupid numbers thrown all over the place, and it makes my head hurt. SO whatever. Not my problem.
Then I come to find out my ex-boyfriend, Josh, is now in jail. What? I don't know for, but I'm just happy. There is nothing that perks up your day like a ex in jail. Then I come to find out my friend Melanie has moved. To California. Without telling me, or anyone else. Well thank you very much. Good to know that you care.
Then I had Anime group shots, and I swear they are worse then the football players. Trying them to line up is worse than herding cattle. I'm just happy I am done with that page. Hallelujah. There is a god, and he loves me, but I have my other pages due on monday, some I haven't even started on. What has the world come to? I don't even want to think about it. I mean seriously. Who cares if Beyond Home Economics isn't in the yearbook, well certainly not me. I mean what the hell is it anyway? Why can't it just be called Home ec. All the Beyond does is confuse people. Well they can suck it.
I walked home because the only thing I hate more than my unfinished pages is the bus. Ugh.
When I got home I felt so free. Then I realized I have to get up, and start another entire semester over again. Imagine my excitement. I would rather be shot in the foot than spend five more minutes, let alone a year and a half, at that school.
Then I get a call at five thirty, when I'm just about to find out who A is in my Pretty Little Liars, and what happens? I find out I have to give my presentation at Girl Scouts which "I have been working on for weeks," but in reality have not started. So I get to write a whole presentation on the over use of water bottles (Which I am very passionate about, I just wasn't feeling very passionate about it this week). So hopefully after I am done with this post, I can return to the solitude of my room, and continue reading about the mysterious Character A. (my bets are on Melissa).
Well that's all for now. I shall see you tomorow

Sonya

1.24.11 Finals Day
Today was the first day of finals, so I got out early, which was the only plus side of the day. Today was easy finals, and tomorow comes the hard ones. Let me express my utmost enthusiams for that -deadpan- Today was Math, which I thought would be so much more difficult, but luckily I have the greatest teacher EVER! Then art which I only had to finish the construction on my beautiful art project, if I do say so myself. Yearbook was Yearbook which consisted of begging the Librarian for my interview. Then Econ. Half way through my econ final, I get a letter from Decathlon, saying there is mandatory meeting after school today, wednesday, and friday. Friday, our day off. I read that, and I can feel my dreams of sleeping late, and lounging in my pajamas fade away, and then Saturday, Competition which means being at school at 6:30 in the morning. Gah. The good news? I get to compete! Two girls from the team have to go to National Debate competition, and while I love those girls, I'm still happy to be able to compete.
For those of you who don't know, Academic Decathlon is an academic competition, that involves studying like mad on one subject, The Great Depression, this year, and then taking a test on every aspect of it.
-Language and Lit
-Art
-History
-Economics
-Math
-Music -and-
-Superquiz.
Sound like fun? Well if it does, you must be just as crazy as me. This of course does not end till 6 at night, and then we have to stick around for award. Needless to say, it's a long day.
So, anyway, there I was in Economics. Taking my test. I'm on number 24, when I'm interupted. I can't help but read the letter right away, but then am so distracted by my lack of freedom this Friday, and Saturday, I can no longer concentrate on my test. Damn you Decathlon.
When I got home, I was going to take the bus, but there were to many people by the bus stops. (One day, I'll give you my rant on the CTA) So after walking home, instead of studying for my tests today, or doing my much neglected AP homework. No of course not. I read a book. Why? Because it is the greatest source of procrastination there is. "just let me finish this page" turns into "just let me finish this chapter" which then further progresses to "Just let me finish this book"
SO I did not study for any of my finals, nor did I do my neglected study guides, or homework, and instead, I read. (ha, ha that rhymes).
Well now that I have succesfully started my blog opposed to doing some of my homework, or maybe finally organizin my econ binder, I might start on that homework thing. Needless to say, It's going to be a long night. Well, at least I have Nora Roberts with me. Thank god for books on tape.
Well thats it for now. I've got to learn spanish before my spanish 4 final, analyze 2 poems for AP lit, and try to figure out whats going on in physics.
Wish me luck
Love,
Sonya

Hello
Hi, my name is Sonya. I'm a Junior in a Chicago Public school. Which School? you may ask. Well, I don't feel the need to give out that information. Well, any way, I'm making this blog, simply to piss and moan about all the stuff that happens in my life. Occasionally, I might be excited about something, but I doubt that's going to happen very often. So, if you are looking for a blog about a happy family with pictures of them all smiling, and the dog faithfully by their side, please click next blog. really, I won't be offended. It's cool. I appreciate your honesty, I don't want to waste your time, and I don't want to waste yours, so I wasn't writing it for you anyway.
So, if you want to listen to the complaints of a highschooler, then please, continue reading. Consider this a veiw into my life. I will be changing names, because I really don't think my teachers, family, or friends would appreciate their personal business smeared all over the internet. So if you know me, and your reading this, and you think "Hey, that sounds like me." It probably is. So just be happy I'm not using your name.
Anyway. That's me. Feel free to leave comments, concerns, advice, critcisms, or whatever the hell else you want to leave. Thank you,
Love,
Sonya
